The Centro Histórico, Mexico City’s grand, crumbling downtown, with relics from seven centuries of urban life, is a favorite. Neighborhoods all over the city pique the imagination. Mexico City is a fantastic juxtaposition of grandeur and squalor, high art and low hedonism, often in the same block, that gay guys just get instinctively. Those who love cities know their inconveniences are just the cover charge you pay to dance in dynamic urban spaces. They keep coming in spite of the pollution, crime, traffic, and flu scares. The land borders between the USA and Mexico are closed to all non-essential travel until at least February 21, 2021. This includes travel that is considered tourism or recreational in nature. The United States and Mexico entered a joint initiative March 21 restricting non-essential travel along the U.S.-Mexico land border. Mexico City has been one of the areas most affected by COVID-19.
